Coastal Dining by the Sea
The fish was in the ocean this morning
La Terraza is the kitchen at Lo Sereno Casa de Playa — a Michelin Key restaurant on the beach in Troncones, Guerrero, on Mexico's Pacific coast.
The menu changes because the ingredients do. Pacific seafood, produce from Guerrero. Dinner by candlelight on the terrace, 100 meters from the water.
There is no fixed menu that changes seasonally. There is no all-inclusive package. Breakfast is included with every stay. Everything else is ordered by the course, the glass, the day.
Dinner comes at seven, just after the sun has gone.
Between 5:30 and 6:30 the Pacific turns everything gold, and the team sets the tables by hand: clay dishes, local linen, a single candle each. The dinner menu rotates with what the kitchen has that evening: grilled fresh catch, the traditional preparations of Guerrero, vegetables from nearby, mezcal from the region.
Dinner is not folded into the room rate, and it doesn't need to be. It earns its place on its own. La Terraza opens to guests from outside the hotel as well, when there is room; reservations are wise from November through March, though anyone is welcome to walk in if a table is free.
La Terraza FAQ
Is La Terraza open to non-hotel guests?
Yes, for dinner, subject to availability. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially November through March. Breakfast is reserved for hotel guests.
Is breakfast included in the room rate?
Yes. Breakfast at La Terraza is included in every suite rate, every night of the stay. Not a continental tray in the room. A full breakfast at a table facing the Pacific.
What type of food does La Terraza serve?
Pacific coast Mexican cuisine, anchored in Guerrero's traditions. Fresh seafood from local fishermen, vegetables from nearby farms, bread baked in the hotel, and mezcal from the region. The menu rotates daily with the catch and what's in season.
What is the "Sunset Hour" at La Terraza?
Between 5:30 and 6:30 PM, the bar is open and the tables near the edge of the terrace are the best seats in the house. Not a programmed event. Simply the time when the Pacific is at its best, and the kitchen knows to have the mezcal poured.
Can the kitchen accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available. Please inform us at the time of booking so the kitchen can plan accordingly. The menu changes daily, so specific allergen requests are best communicated in advance.
